The era of convergence is here and has touched the lives of all Malaysians. The setting up of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, SKMM, in 1998 provided the framework that spearheaded the development of Communications and Multimedia ( ICT ) in Malaysia. The country has taken the lead in the region in introducing key initiatives in promoting communication services. This includes the MyICMS, a blueprint implementation plan that will propel Malaysia in the delivery of advanced information, communications and multimedia services towards improving the quality of life of Malaysians and at boosting Malaysia's global competitiveness.
Under the Ministry of Energy, Water and Communications, the MyICMS 886 blueprint sets key targets for accelerating access to more advanced communication services : |
